What 35x Wagering Actually Costs You: A Worked Example with Real Bonus Terms

450% up to €4,000 + 325 FS

Wagering x35 · Min. deposit €20 · Withdrawal Up to 72 h

35x wagering means you must place bets worth 35 times a set amount before bonus money becomes cash you can withdraw. That set amount decides everything: on the bonus alone, a €100 bonus asks for €3,500 of bets; on deposit plus bonus, the same offer can ask for three times as much. Below, the maths runs on real terms from casinos in our catalogue.

The formula, and the one word that changes it

Every wagering clause reduces to one line: base × multiplier = turnover required. The multiplier is the number everyone quotes. The base hides in the terms, and it comes in two versions.

  • Bonus only: you wager the bonus amount × 35. Vavada works this way on its 100% first-deposit bonus up to €1,000.
  • Deposit + bonus: you wager the combined balance × 35. Snatch Casino applies x35 to deposit plus bonus on its euro version.

Turnover is not money lost. It is the total value of bets placed, wins recycled included. A €5 spin that pays back €4 still counts €5 toward the target. What you really pay is the house edge on that turnover. Whether your own deposit stays locked until the end is a separate clause, covered in sticky vs non-sticky bonuses.

Worked example: €100 into the Snatch first-deposit bonus

Snatch’s first deposit carries 200% up to €1,000 + 100 FS on The Dog House. Deposit €100 and the cashier adds €200 of bonus money. The x35 clause then plays out like this:

  1. Base: €100 deposit + €200 bonus = €300.
  2. Turnover: €300 × 35 = €10,500.
  3. Deadline: 10 days, so about €1,050 of bets per day.
  4. Max bet: €5 per spin, so at least 2,100 spins at full stake.

Now the cost. Gambling.com puts the site’s average RTP around 96%, which means the house keeps about 4% of turnover over time. 4% of €10,500 is €420, more than the €300 balance you started with. Most attempts therefore run dry before the target; the ones that finish do so thanks to a big hit along the way. Two caps then limit that upside: withdrawable bonus winnings stop at 5x the bonus (€1,000 here), and free-spin winnings at €100.

That does not make the offer useless. It makes it a high-variance ticket: €10,500 of action for €100, repeated across four deposits up to €4,000 + 325 FS. The Snatch Casino review details the licence and cashier behind it, and the tier-by-tier conditions sit on the Snatch welcome package page.

Same €100, six different bills

The multiplier alone ranks nothing. Put the base, the deadline and the max bet next to it and the order changes. Each row assumes a €100 (or $100) first deposit under current terms; the last column applies a 96% RTP.

Casino Wager Applies to Bonus on 100 Turnover Days Max bet Expected cost
Vavada x35 Bonus €100 €3,500 14 Not published €140
Katsubet x35 Bonus €100 €3,500 14 €1 €140
Snatch x35 Deposit + bonus €200 €10,500 10 €5 €420
iWild x30 Deposit + bonus $200 $9,000 10 Not published $360
Wild.io x40 Bonus $100–$110 $4,000–$4,400 7 5 USDT $160–$176
22Bet x50 Bonus €100 €5,000 7 €5 €200

Read across: Vavada and Katsubet ask for a third of the Snatch turnover on the same deposit, because their x35 hits the bonus alone. Katsubet’s €1 max bet is the tight part, 3,500 spins minimum in 14 days, or 250 a day. Vavada caps bonus winnings at 10x the bonus. Snatch, in return, hands out double the bonus money plus 100 spins, so the player who wants volume over certainty still has a case for it. Full terms are in the Vavada review and, for the €1 stake rule, in the Katsubet review. iWild, Snatch’s sister brand under the same operator, uses the same deposit-plus-bonus base at x30; see the iWild Casino review.

Max bet, game weighting and the deadline

Three clauses decide whether the target is reachable at all.

  • Max bet. One spin above the cap while a bonus is active can be enough to void the bonus and everything won with it. Snatch sets €5, Katsubet €1, 22Bet €5, Wild.io 5 USDT.
  • Game weighting. Slots usually count 100%. Wild.io states that only slots count, so blackjack on a bonus balance there burns time without moving the counter.
  • Deadline. €10,500 in 10 days at Snatch, $4,000 in 7 days at Wild.io, €3,500 in 14 days at Vavada. A short window pushes stakes up, and higher stakes mean wider swings.

No-deposit bonuses: the same maths, applied to winnings

A no-deposit bonus is credit or free spins granted at registration, before any payment. Wagering then applies to what the spins win. Vavada’s 100 free spins on The Dog House carry x20 on winnings within 14 days. Suppose the spins return €15: you then need €300 of bets before that balance can be withdrawn, and at a 4% edge the expected cost is about €12. Among the offers here, nothing tests a cashier more cheaply. More offers of this kind are listed in our no-deposit bonus guide. Snatch publishes no public no-deposit offer, and Katsubet excludes France from its registration spins.

Crypto bonuses: same rule, two twists

Crypto casinos do offer bonuses, often larger ones. Wild.io advertises 350% up to $5,000 + 200 FS at x40 on the bonus only. 22Bit runs a package up to 17,000 USDT at x40, slots only, 5 USDT max bet, 30 days. First twist: a bonus funded in BTC moves with the price while you wager, which a stablecoin avoids; the USDT payment guide covers the networks. Second twist: some brands drop the multiplier. BC.Game pays its 180% to 360% deposit bonuses as locked rakeback released at wagered amount × house edge × 1%, a different calculation explained in rakeback vs cashback compared. And 22Bet disables bonuses on crypto accounts altogether.

Which offer fits which player

  • Lowest turnover per euro of bonus: Vavada or Katsubet, x35 on the bonus alone. Both open accounts to residents of France; Snatch does not.
  • Most bonus money, big sessions: Snatch, 200% on the first deposit and 325 FS over four deposits, accepting €10,500 of turnover per €100.
  • Paying by Neosurf: Snatch and Katsubet both take it for deposits; withdrawals then go by bank transfer, e-wallet or crypto.
  • Playing from Dakar or Casablanca: Snatch excludes Senegal and Morocco, as well as DR Congo, Mali and Burkina Faso. Katsubet accepts both.

Run the four numbers, then open the account

Before you accept any bonus, write down base, multiplier, days and max bet. Multiply, take 4% of the turnover, and compare it with your deposit. Below your deposit, the bonus adds value; above it, you are buying variance with a capped payout. On those terms, Snatch is the pick for the player who wants the largest package and accepts the turnover, from Côte d’Ivoire, Cameroon, Tunisia, Gabon or Madagascar, all outside its restricted list. Open your account through our full Snatch Casino review, check which tier your deposit triggers, and set your stake at €5 or below before the first spin.

Player questions

What does wagering requirement mean?

It is the total value of bets you must place before bonus funds, or free-spin winnings, can be withdrawn. It is written as a multiplier of the bonus or of deposit plus bonus, and usually comes with a deadline and a maximum bet.

What does 35x wagering mean?

You must bet 35 times the base amount. On bonus-only terms, a €100 bonus means €3,500 of bets; on deposit-plus-bonus terms like Snatch's, a €100 deposit with a €200 bonus means €10,500.

Do crypto casinos offer bonuses?

Yes, and often larger ones: Wild.io advertises 350% up to $5,000 + 200 FS at x40 on the bonus, and 22Bit a package up to 17,000 USDT. BC.Game replaces the multiplier with locked rakeback released as you play.
